Abstract submission deadline is past.

Early registration deadline is Monday, April 3rd
April 14-15, 2017
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Worcester, MA

Themes: Nanoscience and biophysics

At the nanometer scale, many disciplines converge into nanoscience and biophysics.  The 2017 Spring meeting of the New England Section of the APS, along with NanoWorcester, will focus on these topics.  Submission by undergraduate and graduate students, as well as postdocs, of abstracts for oral presentations and posters is encouraged.

Students will have the option of competing in the poster and elevator-speech competition:  on Friday afternoon, the initial round of judging will be based on posters.  Finalists at several levels will be selected based on the poster presentations, and they will be announced after the banquet on Friday evening.  Finalists will compete for cash prizes via "elevator speeches" on Saturday. These funds come from industrial support, raised by NanoWorcester.

A stipend of up to $300 is available to cover the registration and travel expenses for
APS Student Members presenting at the meeting. These funds are the courtesy of APS.

Invited Speakers:

  • Bryan Huey, University of Connecticut, SPM studies of ferroelectric domains in perovskite photovoltaics
  • Milicent Firestone, Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies, Los Alamos National Labs, Soft-matter and biophysics
